The Ill-Prepared Environment

In Montessori, we often celebrate the prepared environment—a space intentionally designed to nurture independence, confidence, and curiosity. But what happens when that environment is not prepared to honor the full identities, cultures, and lived experiences of the children it serves?

In this episode, our ABC ladies explore the realities and consequences of an environment that is ill-prepared for diversity. They ask important questions such as:
